Skully Fuzz

The Skully Fuzz is a high gain distortion fuzz pedal that’s equally at home on guitar or bass thanks to its Clean Blend control. This gives you the ability to blend in your clean signal which helps preserve your low end on bass and maintain the transients of your pick attack on either instrument.

Inspired by a vintage Russian Fuzz circuit as well as a pedal I built for Mark Hoppus in 2023, the Skully Fuzz can go from a light crunch to distortion to out of control fuzzy feedback and everywhere in between. The Tone Control goes from boosting low end on the left, to boosting high end on the right. On Guitar I like double tracking with one guitar darker and one guitar brighter for a full frequency wall of sound. Bass guitar is where this pedal really gets to shine. Its flexible controls allow it to work great in a wide variety of music styles. Dial back the gain and clean blend for an aggressive finger style or do the opposite for a synthy fuzz bass that's reminiscent of MUSE. At max gain settings you will get some self-oscillating feedback similar to the Zvex Fuzz Factory, so be careful! The long sustain of the Skully Fuzz also makes it an excellent choice for lead work.

The Skully Fuzz runs on 9v DC negative tip power only, and consumes 3mA of power. 

FEATURES: 'Blend' control allows you to dial in some clean signal to preserve your pick attack, or maintain the low end when using on bass. Use in front of a dirty amp and blend in just a hint of Skully Fuzz for a textured and layered tone. 'Gain' sweeps from light crunch to distortion to sustaining fuzz. Flexible 'Tone' control works with a variety of pickups and amps.
